There is a program I found a while back called JumpN which is sort-of what
you're looking for.

It adds a button on the bottom of Notes. On the note you want to remember,
tap and hold the button until your newton squeeks. Now you can go browsing
around all you want, and can return to that note by tapping the button
again. It is only for notes though.

I don't now where you can get it, but mailto:lunatic@netcom.com is in the
help.
