Umm, no.
YOu can _not_ assume that any hayes compatible modem will work in an
mp2000. Many (but not all) Global Village modems won't work. The
USRobotics Courier PCMCIA modem would not work in the mp2000. There are
others.

A non-hayes compatible modem will definitely not work, but they don't
exist any more. THere are definite modem compatibility issues, some of
which are quite strange. As I said, the Courier PCMCIA modem won't work;
hte newton thinkgs it's a memory card...

There were modem compatibility lists around; maybe somebody else here has
a URL for those?
