I think you might try a soft reset, and then I would try inserting a new
battery. When you go into a store to buy a battery, sometimes those
batteries have been around a while. I usually go to a drugstore that is
very popular, hence has a lot of customers turning over their stock, hence
fresher batteries. Just like Twizzlers - (a popular, licorice-type candy,
for those that don't know) - who has the freshest Twizzlers? Answer: Movie
theaters.

If it is not that, and it is not dirty battery terminals (try rubbing
alcohol), then you might have a serious problem.
