You're mistaken. Sony made a portable MD-DATA drive. I own it. It's
about the size of a pack of cigarettes, is battery powered, and has a
mini-SCSI connector on the back. Plays MD-Audio too (but doesn't record
MD-Audio discs, for some blazingly stupid reason, considering Sony also
sold MD recorders at the time. For the price, it should have!
