Re: NTLK alt.rec.

Thanks for the response - it is all a bit clearer now.

As for the bugs I have been experiencing - it only seems to be after doing
a soft reset and then I only need to tap on the alt.rec icon and then
dismiss the expansion dialoge box and all seems to be well again.

I presume that the auto-spell check does not work on the MP130 but even so
it seems like a great project and one worthy of support. Even if all the
features do not work on an MP130 it seems like something I will keep on the
newt anyway. If it would be a help I would be happy to keep you informed
of any bugs that I experience (I plan to download bugtrap). Anything that
will increase the functionallity of note taking on the Newt is great news
for me as I mainly use it to take notes at uni and in my work (apart from
the odd game that is!).

Keep up the good work!

Oops, I haven't tested it on MP130, since I don't have any. Maybe a bug
trap log could help. (bugtrap is a product from tactile,
http://www.tactile.com I think.)

The dictionary icon is to learn the word. The other dict icon with a line
over it is to forget it (hence to change the style to standard).

I hope it is. But advantages are:
a) better recognition if you use printing letters & slightly better
recognition if you use cursive recognizer
b) auto-spell checking in paragraphs views that accept styled text
c) auto-learn of new words if you use printing letters (it is disabled with
this recognizer)
d) expansions mechanism better than system expansions (go to the prefs,
then the menu then expansions)

In a nutshell, it allows me to takes notes in real time, nearly as fast as
with paper (some expansions help a lot: my French Literature Teacher
(nearly) always has the following outline in his explanations:

Introduction
a) Situation
b) Composition
I)
II)
Conclusion

Hence planfrs expands to this text. Great, isn't it?).

BTW, the next version is being prepared (maybe released before the new
year's day). We don't use exactly 0.6a3.

Paul
