It appears that this only supports AppleTalk, but I haven't tried putting NIE on
the 120 to see. The Card's setup screen gives an ethernet address and the
option to use EtherTalk, but no mention of TCP/IP. It is evidently a relabled
Xircom Netwave card, but I can't find much information on the Netwave product
capabilities.

I will try this, but it works on the 120 without NIE at all.

Neither slot works. If I start up the 2100 with the Roamer driver frozen, and
then insert the card, the message I get is "Newton cannot recognize this type of
card." If I start the Newton with the driver frozen and then thaw the driver, I
get a -8007 error and then I am prompted to insert the card. When I do, Newton
informs me that "a communications card has been inserted," however the Roamer
does not recoginze it. If I then try to start up the Roamer driver, the system
reboots with a system error.

Brief snooping around with ViewFrame shows that the driver looks for a Netwave
card in the slot, but the actual driver code seems to be in assembler or perhaps
a compiled c function, which I cannot fathom.

It sure would be neat if I could make it work, since the Xircom Netwave cards
are not very expensive (when you can find them).
