        I'm not sure this is a good idea. NiMH is not the same as NiCd.
Unfortunately I can't remember, but of the three common rechargable
batteries (NiCd, NiMH, and lithium ion), ONE of them tends to blow up and
catch fire if not treated JUST RIGHT. The first Mac Powerbooks blew up
like this.

        I'd check if I were you. Ka-boom.
