I have the same problem and solved it by subscribing the two addresses.
In my case one is set to receive each message for faster
reading/deleting and keeping the flood of NTLK mail away from my company
IMAP server and the company e-mail address which gets only the digest.
Doing so you are able to post to NTLK from both addresses. May be
hotmail does not work because it is an unsolicited address?
