I am mailing the following to leadership@apple.com.

Hi,

I am a lifelong Apple customer. I purchased my first Apple II in 1978.

I have purchased many mac's including 128k/se30/macii/pm7500/G$ etc.

I have sold mac to hundreds if not thousands of people, many of whom now
work in the Mac industry everyday.

Several years ago I purchased a used MessagePad 120 for a software
project I as working on.

It is an incredible machine which changed the way I thought of Personal
Computers.

I have used the Newton daily since (I now have a MP2000 (and an
eMate)).

The Newton is a uniquely well suited network computer, with a
streamlined and consistent interface. It's compact data model is
particularly well suited for "internet devices".

A handheld color Newton device with enough horsepower and the proper
design (which has always been INCREDIBLE(perhaps too incredible)),
Could take the stagnant (palm (snooze)) handheld market by storm.

I would like to order 10 (ten) at a price not to exceed $699.

Please do not allow Newton technology to rot.

I do see some excellent eMate carry over in the iBook (cover close
off/open on), lighted charging indicator, tray style charge connectors,
etc. but the

Newton MUST live!!!!

Love,
Marty
