I think you're stuck with it. A few options:

Make something else your backdrop app, something with more real estate such as
Avi's backdrop.

Freeze PQ. Unfreeze only when you use it. Freezing it will take away the
button but you'll still have access to PQ, it will just take a few extra
seconds.
