Tips on what? Backing up?

If so, -- in addition to backing up frequently, two very important tips
and one useful one and one that'll help you do the other three more
frequently:

1. Always do a FULL backup, not an incremental (move the old backup
files folder to a "previous backups" folder somewhere and date the folder)

2. Frequently, if not always, do an EXPORT of your data, too. I do that
in a variety of formats. One good export format besides text format if
you're using a Mac (and I assume you are by your @mac.com address) is
Claris Organizer format. If you don't have Claris Organizer, it's been
sold to Palm and renamed Palm Desktop for Macintosh, and it's available
for free download from www.palm.com. Import your data into that, or if
you have some other desktop PIM you use, into there, so you'll have a
usuable copy of your data on your Mac if your Newton dies -- you can't
export from backups, only directly from the Newton, so backups are
useless without a Newton to restore them too.

3. Keep a folder containing the software you have installed on your
Newton so you have it in one place if you should have to reinstall.

4. Get an Ethernet card for your Newton; backups are MUCH faster.
Depends on how much data you have, of course, but backups that took me an
hour or so now take 5-10 minutes. Those are full backups, witha 20MB card
and a 4MB or 6MB card inserted that are quite full. Search my site,
Info-Newt for Victor Rehorst's page on his Newton Resources site on the
various cards that can be used.
