I've also been hit with the dreaded squiggles now and then. I noticed this
evening that when it happened I was holding my pen and the Newton at a
slightly unusual angle because of the circumstances--not a lot different,
but enough that the pen wasn't pressing on the screen as firmly as normal
and also that my hand was resting differently on the Newton itself. I also
noticed that the problem seemed more pronounced on the right side of the
screen, which was where the side of my hand was resting (mostly on the black
edge of the Newton itself, not on the screen, but part of my hand may have
been touching the screen). I adjusted my writing angle back to normal and
intentionally pressed a little harder and the problem quickly disappeared.
