Hmm, not sure what you are doing wrong, but I just checked to make sure that I could check my Yahoo mail & had no problems.
Have you checked on a desktop just to make sure that your account is working?

I have been unable to access my Yahoo email account with NewtsCape. I enter my
account name and password and am either returned to the same page or get a
page that is blank except for the word Yahoo in small type at the top center.
