Re: NTLK Backups crashing when it gets to the card.

I do a similar thing, but nowhere near as efficient, but easier to maintain.

I have a Newton Folder on my Mac with everything I ever got for the Newt.

It's 174 megs.

I have things in the folder organized into categories (Utilities,
Communications, E-Texts).

This way, when I get something, it gets filed. I don't worry about keeping
track of when I move things on the Newt, or delete them from the Newt.

So, I went into the extras drawer. Selected All Icons and my card.

I then, one at a time, found the original on my Mac, copied it to a "Need to
reload" folder and deleted it from the newt.

Every 5 Packages or so I tried a backup again, until finally one backup
worked.

(After the first 4 times I gave up keeping track of which 5 I had just
deleted, so I don't know which package was corrupt.)

In any case, I then restored this backup to my new card, and re-installed
all the packages from the "Need to reload" folder.

Worked like a charm. Just as a test, I then did a new backup of the new
card. It also worked like a charm.

Kenny's method would certainly have been easier, for I could have just
deleted all the packages, and then reinstalled them. But mine worked as
well, and only took a little while longer. :-)
