How do you fix a Newton Messagepad 130 Backlight when it does not work? =
It simply stopped working - it did not fade away. Neither the hardware =
switch or any software switch will work. Have tried all resets and still =
no backlight. It is missed!.
One reason could be that the backlight doesn't get any power. If you are a
brave person, you could remove the bottom part of the case to have a look
at it. You'll find two red wires and two black wires soldered to the main
board. The red/black wires that are thinner are the power supply for the
backlight. They are about in the middle of the right-hand edge (if the
MP lies on its face and the battery compartment points towards you).
