Is this happening after you reboot your Newton? I have a similar error
(actually, it's a -48204 Path failed) that I always resolve by running
GeekGas, from the same author. I contacted the creator, but he never
heard of that problem, and at some point, his email address was invalid.

Pretty odd, though, but it always work for me, so I just keep GeekGas
around, frozen, and whenever I have to reboot my Newton, I run GeekGas
before trying to launch GeekSafe.
