Mhhmm..
Some versions I use/used also: a small connector drilled into the the foot
plate of
regular battery cage (filled with 4 piece AA 2,2 m/AH now/sorry I got them
from a guy
working for a battery producer, this type will be available in 6 months or so)
and charged with a mini solar panel or the NewtCharger OUTSIDE the Newt
(cause the batteries can go hotter than the Newt like while charging)

For the Nikon CoolPix I did an external battery pack consisting of 4
RX 14 Accus in a belt case - the cable fits the Newt charging cable also.

And there is the battery cage conversion - needs some work and soldering, see
http://www.pda-lifestyle.de/beitraege/newton/akku2k/
German only, sorry.

Anyone tried to cut throuh the envelope of the NiMH Rechargeable to replace
the NiMHs ? At the moment I dont have a dead one to try and knowing where
to cut
without ruining anything would be nice...

Lui
