I use the 3Com 3C589-D version in a MP 2100 with a Cross-over cable
directly to my Mac. This is a bit tricky since I do not use router. Make
sure yow have installed all of the required software and that you have
updated yowr OS to version 2.1. When I insert my card I do not get any
response but the green light does come on for short time then goes off
again. It does not come back on until I start NCU and change to Ethertalk
on my Mac.
You will also want to Create a Connection Slip in NIE to use your ethernet
card.
