Gratulation! You got all what Apple left for us in terms of backup
facilities of the Newton. Forget all synchronizing and do better always
a complete backup as well as exporting of the most important data
(dates, names, notes, works, tasks). That is to move the actual backup
files into the folder "elder backups" *before* starting of NCU. I've
tried from time to time synchronization but I'm tired of the many lost
hours...
