The guy that wrote a few drivers for unsupported 3COM Ethernet cards did
release a beta driver for the ORiNOCO/Wavelan cards. As I understand it,
it works only in a peer-to-peer mode, so you cannot use it with an
AirPort base station. I don't think that anybody ever released a driver
for the Proxim cards.

I'm very slowly getting my feet wet in the Ethernet driver documentation
and, as I said before, my goal is to write a driver that will work with
a WaveLan/ORiNOCO card and an Apple AirPort Base Station, but don't hold
your breath...
