Come on folks, use a bit of imagination. The Newton is still the best PDA
for a wide range of uses, and that includes research and commercial data
collection, not just individual use.

I currently have about 30 MP2Ks which get used for cognitive assessments
(memory tests, reaction times, attention and so on) - 20 of them are out in
the field in one project, the remainder get used in a variety of lab-based
studies. It wasn't me that bought the 7 at a dutch auction recently, but it
could have been, and my guess it was someone with this kind of application
in mind.

If they went for $230 (any way less than $300) that strikes me as a fair
price. When the price drops too low that means the Newton is _really_ dying

I can see the need for a backup, but come on, 7 of them? Must be
careless or hopes to make a quick buck selling to other hoarders.
Eventually those who are stuck with 120's or 130's because of financial
status will never have the opportunity to use the cream of the crop.
