yes and no. The emate does switch to 32bit memory addressing, my
manual specifically mentions this, I think, I'll have to dig it out.
However, in reality this gives only a small performance upgrade. You
will see a difference on anything processor intensive. My favorite
benchmarks are the KungFu game

<http://pda-ny.tucows.webusenet.com/newton/adnload/33200_20153.html>,
the speed difference is very apparent on an upgraded emate. For
regular typing and whatnot, it may seem a bit snappier, but not that
much better. This is based on my own observations, etc. YMMV.
