        You'll need to get a crossover Ethernet cable, or buy a cheap
hub and hook up both the PC and the Newt to the hub. Personally I think
the hub is the better way to go, since you can pick them up for cheap (I
got my 4 port hub for $25 from egghead), and they have a bunch of other
uses (IP masquerading and forwarding springs to mind, allowing you to
hook up all your computers to a single internet connection).

        You'll also need to have some software to handle moving files to
and from the Newt. Thomas Tempelmann has written software to allow PCs
and Macs to connect to Newtons over Ethernet. Personally, I just drop
the files I want on my home web server, and navigate to it with the Newt
using NewtsCape.
