Well, I could never aspire to be as all-knowledgable as a
"guru", but perhaps my humble suggestion may be useful to you.
I suspect the file you're struggling with is a Windows TNEF file
with the name "winmail.dat".
If so, the following Windows program may help you extract the
attachment:
