Imperfect software for an imperfect world. A new slogan!! I wonder who would
pay me for it. :-)
But returning to the subject of Java. It is fulfilling its purpose, but not
the expectations that Sun advertised? Is that a correct reading of the sum
of the posts? It seems to be being used in many, not-so-visible applications
(and thankfully not so commonly on the web) and not so much for those
visible applications that appeal to the horizontal or general market. This,
I assume, is due to the limitations or maybe I should say intended purpose
of the language. Well, you learn something new every day (or in this case,
across several days...) :-) Thanks for all the answers. I've enjoyed the
education.
