Yup, Dashboard doesn't use alot of heap, but it slows my AMP21K to reg.
speeds
Try this, get Roger Milne's 'Full Screen 1.1', speeds it back up and has a
nice feature when you tap the 'star'.

Anyway, I have on my #1 AMP21K...
1. Money Mag's Business Forms
2. Notion 2.0.1a2
3. Pocket Quicken 1.2
4. In/Out(that's what a hamburger is all about)
5. Notepad
6. Undo(yeah, I scribble)
..all this on top of StartBar.

Also on my #2 AMP2KU...
Full length of screen using ButtonBarPlus...
1. Volume Control, 2. Keyboard choice, 3. close BB, 4. Backlight Control,
5. Calculator, 6. Dates, 7. Card, 8. LexiDrugs, 9. Find, 10. In/Out, 11.
Formulas, 12. Names, 13. NewtonWorks, 14. Owner Info. 15. Notepad, 16.
Prefs., 17. Notion, 18. Undo, 19. Assist, 20. QuickFigurePro, 21. Mem(heap
clearer)...with StartBar on the bottom.

The backdrop is BackDrop from SAS.

Now let's see what's on the status bar???

#1 AMP21K has...
1. BackDrop's 'i', rotate button, and extras access button.
2. Notion pop-up button
3. OneTap
4. PocketQuicken pop-up button
5. Dateview
6. PIMple
7. PowerOff
8. '61 button

On #2 AMP2KU...
1. BackDrop's 'i', rotate button, extras access button
2. Notion pop-up button
3. OneTap
4. PowerOff
5. Budget To Go
6. Dateview
7.WordNewt
8. '61 button
