OK, here's what you do...Grab a piece of 1" diameter
stock Delrin from your handy "junk" parts bin.
While the Acetal Homopolymer is nice, it tends to be a
little soft...
I've played around with the Acetal Homopolymer, 20%
Glass-filled(570) but stopped using it for fear that
the "glass-Fill" may scratch the screen.
I settled on Acetal Homopolymer, AF Blend. The nice
thing about the AF Blend is that it has embedded
Teflon fibers for a low coeficient of friction! Lucky
for me, I had a scrap piece in black.
If you don't have a scrap piece, you can purchase a
3/16" diameter piece from most machine shops.
What makes this stuff nice is that it is highly
machineable. Just pop a piece in to your lathe and
"turn down" a piece that will fit your Newton pen!
Or, if you're handy with a knife, whittle one down to
the correct size...(I had a duck decoy wood carver
make me a point in an emergency on my original
"titanium" Newton pen...when I was in the Outerbanks
one year...talk about pulling my butt out of hot
water!)
Or, you can go to PDA Panache and get a new pen for
$19...

Just because you're a genius, doesn't make you a smart guy!
