I have never run across any way that a standard PC keyboard can be
directly adapted to work with the Newton. Since a standard PS2 or similar
keyboard has a clock-driven circuit, and the Newton requires a
serial-based keyboard, the only way to do this would be to custom build
your own cable, circuit conversion box, and keyboard driver.
The simplest way to use the keyboard connected to your PC to enter data
into your Newton is to connect the two devices with a serial or Ethernet
cable and using NCU (Newton Connection Utilities). The downside of this
of course, it that you need to be physically connected to your PC. I
believe Steve Weyer's Slurpee allows you to do this as well, when used
with a Windows-based front end program called Winslurp:

If you are still interested in trying to build an adapter yourself, here
are links to the pinouts for the Newton's standard DIN-8 serial port and
the Newton InterConnect port found on the eMate and MP2x00 series device:

Good luck.
