A while back I posted a call for proposals for Java applet games that
might be fun to port to Waba. I got exactly two responses, one of which
I implemented (SameGame). Pretty pathetic, everyone! Hey, do you want
some games on the Newton or what?
So I'm making a second call for proposals. The game applet must have
the following properties:
1. It must be open source, with a license permitting
redistribution with modifications.
2. It must be Java (of course).
3. It generally should not rely on networking or serial communication.
4. It should be small.
5. It should generally not require massive amounts of screen redrawing;
because we don't have access to Apple's C++ quickdraw routines
(yet),
Waba's achilles heel is its need to go through NewtonScript to draw
anything.
6. It should not rely on color or sound.
7. It should be possible to come up with a feasible pen interface to
control the whole thing.
Go out on the web and look for your favorite game, puzzle, whatever.
Lemme know!
