[NTLK] The MP2000 has a faster (clocked?) CPU than the MP2100??? :-)

Hi all,

Check out the MP2100 specifications here:

http://www.unna.org/unna/apple/documentation/messagepad2100.sp.pdf

Specifically:
CPU StrongARM SA-110 RISC processor
162 MHz

NB: The document says "Unless noted in the specifications subheading,
product specifications are the same for both the Apple MessagePad 2000
and the Apple MessagePad 2100."

Now check out this document:

http://www.unna.org/unna/apple/documentation/MessagePad2000.sea.hqx

CPU StrongARM 32-bit RISC processor
167.9 MHz

This info appears in two places in this document.

The information doesn't appear to have been discussed before. For
example this search:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=messagepad+2000+167.9+MHz&btnG=Google+Search

(for messagepad 2000 167.9 MHz)

and variants such as MP2000, MP2k turns up zero hits.

My guess is that all MP2x00 Newtons are marginally overclocked to 167.9
MHz.

Since the difference is under 4% you'd need benchmark software to test
for this.

Regards,
Adam
