Thanks for the reply, and I have been away from my machine long enough to
have played and found a way to fix things a bit. How? Well, I moved all the
many notes out of the "web" folder I use for serving notes, and things
worked again. I don't know what that did, really (fixed a bad note? made the
folder size smaller?) but now things work again...

And I WILL go and find a new version of the software. This is cool stuff, I
love it! The better it works, the happier I am!
