[NTLK] Backing Up on X.1 iBook?

Ok, now, I must admit that one of the main reasons for posting this
query is that I just bought an iceBook and I wanted to tell people. As
this is such a nice community...
Yet I *do* want advice on using the iceBook to back up my 130. I know
the FAQs have info on this, but I'd like real life experience.

So, there's no way to do AppleTalk on a USB to LocalTalk adapter? Even
on non-MP devices? The reason I ask is that the printer I have easiest
access to is AppleTalk only and it'd be cool to use the adapter for dual
purposes.
And how does the adapter thrive, IRL? I don't care much about speed, but
I'd like to know whether it's stable or not.

Now, the X.1 thing. What's the best option here? How well does NCU work
in Classic? How about UN*X options?

TIA for your help!

Alex
