When you say "do anything", do you mean interact with stuff other than
other Newts? I have been led to believe that the enswer is no, but II am
not sure.
The 2.0 Newts did not use IrDA, but used the protocol of the Sharp Zaurus.
I don't have much more info than that regarding 2.0 infrared.
