In the Dulles VA area, houses have been popping up
like weeds. These houses start at $250,000 and go up
past the $1.5 million mark. Yet NONE of these new
houses will have Telco broadband via DSL. The reason
being is that Verizon sets up the neighborhood with a
local loop with fiber to the curb. Verizon wants to
sell Frame Relay and T1 and T3 services...they don't
want to sell DSL. So, as a result, they aren't
installing the necessary wiring in the street to
provide DSL service (a friend of mine lives in a
condo. It's all Fiber...no DSL. Another friend
purchased a $600,000 house and can't get DSL or Cable.
he settled for one way cable for now...)
What the ILECs are doing is a travesty...vote against
the Tauzin/Dingell bill!
