Ummm, could it be that we simply want to do the right thing? Just because
someone COULD post copyrighted works with little/no fear of legal hassle,
doesn't make it right. That's why we're having the whole 'abandonware'
discussion (and have been for some time) -- we, as a community, are trying
to figure out the 'most right' way to handle it. I suspect that the
argument would be that out-of-print books for which the publisher couldn't
be contacted are the equivalent of 'abandonware'.
