I'd agree with Paul that if you are going to create a Newton client, it
should be 2.x -- that gives you the advantages of VBOs for large binary
data, ability to transfer the files via http:, option to call C++ code.
even with MP2K, it might not be fast enough in NewtonScript (or Waba)...
a desktop solution wouldn't be as resource constrained, and could allow user
to create books for 1.x or 2.x.
