Dear Newtoneers,
This came up a few days ago and given the recent discussions of
abandonware, it seems quite appropriate. I have an expensive Newton
software package I no longer use. It tracks diabetes information and has
a large database of foods. I was contacted by a list member who wanted to
find this but the company seems to have gone away. They still have an
active website but do not answer emails. I'd like to sell the package to
him but it is one of those that requries a password that is based upon
the Newton's internal code number.
Is there a way to legally transfer this to the new owner and somehow
crack the password code so he can use it?
