Charles,
DragonDemo does not require a pre-amped mic. The last time I tried it was
with a Shure stage mic on a 25 foot long cable (looked really strange with
the miniplug adapter going in to the home-rolled audio adapter on the newt.
There was no power source involved (other than the MP) and a tremendous
amount of mic cable to provide resistance. I'm quite impressed that the
Newton was able to get a signal through all of that wire.
