Sorry, no idea about the service of VoiceStream,
but it IS POSSIBLE to connect your mobile (with built in modem) to the Newt
using the SER-001. What You probably need is a adapter Mini-Din to Sub-D9, which is
the common connector on the other end of the serial phone adapter cable.
See www.pbk-solutions.de.
On the phones end you have of course the phone specific connector.
Some phones (like Nokia) offer the possibility to connect the phone via IrDa, but unfortunately this will
not work with our beloved Newt, because the protocol needed is not implemented.

Regards
Johannes

Betreff: [NTLK] GSM and MP2100

I just looked at VoiceStream's offering and they have a 3-band GSM
phone (900, 1800 & 1900) that will work in the NY-NJ area and in
Europe. I was wondering if anyone is using VoiceStream and what is
his/her feeling about the service, and more importantly, how does one
connect directly to an uMP2000 using one of these phones (Ericsson,
Nokia or Motorola)? Can I use the SER-001 to connect?

Many thanks!
