the only (and not yet answered) question to me is: to which extent the described for the FirstFone command set is implemented into the various Nokia Phones 6210, 7110 ... with built in modems.
But I think at least for the modem registers the description will be valid.
This looks standardized.

Someone some time ago was looking for documentation about GSM modem
commands.
I came across such a doc while deciding whether to buy an Option
FirstFone or not. In the end I bought a Nokia 7110 (much easier to use
a voice phone, and uses its own battery). Anyway I still have the
ddeveloper doc about the FirstFone. Probably it's still accessible at
the Option site (http://www.option.com), but I couldn't find it. So I
put it on my website, and if they complain I'll just take it down.

(bear in mind that, as I said in another msg, Italy has lost its
biggest cable with the US, so bandwith and reachability are far below optimal)
