Michael,
Do NOT use anything on the newton display that is labeled as a polish or
buffing compound. Any such product is abrasive and accomplishes its task by
removing material, Not what you want.
You can, however, use a CD repair kit, available at any music or electronics
retailer. This works exactly the opposite way, by filling the scratch or
worn area. Doing such is merely cosmetic for the display, but most
importantly, prevents the annoying bump of the stylus on these marks, which
causes excessive wear on the stylus tip. It will require periodic
re-application as well.
Good luck,
Ken Whitcomb
