On 9/19/01, Christopher Plummer quoth:
>I seem to remember a commercial for the newton with a guy on the beach.
>He jots something down on the newt but that's about all I remember; I
>was 12 years old. I thought the technology was kind of a joke at the
>time. "Why not just use a pen and paper?"
I think this was an ATT commercial. The very famous, "Have you ever
(futuristic something)? You will" tagline.
Oddly enough they were directed by David Fincher, of Fight Club fame.
I always found the technology in them to be slightly wacky, like the
mother cooing to her child thru a telephone screen, and got a kick
when I discovered he directed them.
And to make sure this includes the requisite Newton comment, I think
the commercials featured an ATT EO, (that's a lot of capital
letters), A PDA that was concurrent with the first Newton, but
petered out shortly thereafter.
