Hello all,

I feel like I am being portrayed as some sort of "bad guy" for offering a
service I have every right to offer!!

I have no intention on being a "flash in the pan" operation and when/if the
chips all go then I will source more. I don't pretend to be a guru regarding
Newtons and I don't perform the full upgrade myself, that goes to an
electrical engineer with years of SMT experience. Together, as Newton users,
we thought it would be nice to offer the full upgrade service at an
affordable price to those that aren't fortunate enough to live in the same
country as "Dr. Newton".

Everyone on this list is a adult and is perfectly capable of making up their
own minds on who/what service they wish to use. I for one won't whine and
complain if someone else in Australia starts to offer the same service.
After all competition is something that is encouraged in the free world.

For those of you that may have skipped over my post regarding the thread
"Disapointment" find it below.

Regards,

Chris

Hello Dave (Dr Newton),

I think you have grabbed the bull by the horns if you think I am trying to
take your business away from u. That was never the intention. Instead I
wanted to help the ppl in Australia and NZ by offering the same service.

You have to appreciate that to send a Newton (insured air mail) to the US
costs around $40 each way ($20US) which is a lot of money.

What I am doing that is different to you is selling the chips on their own
to ppl that have the necessary surface mounted soldering skills. It just so
happens that some of those people that contacted me came from OS. If you
read my other posts you will see that that took my by surprise and it wasn't
something I expected.

I am NOT offering to perform the total upgrade for people outside NZ or
Australia I am only offering to sell them the chips.

Regards,

Chris
