if you don't need a portable printer then get a HP Laserjet 5MP.
this is the model that works with the newton IR port. i have one: the toner
costs a LOT but lasts forever... you'll want to *kick* the next inkjet you
see for costing so much to run. i am on my fifth ream of A4 paper (500
sheets) and use it for texts + printing some web pages + light graphics.
if you do get one go to hp.com and get the Utility software for your
desktop. not necessary, but useful. there is also a patch from apple that
improves print speed:

one oddity: when you print through IR the fonts are moderately pixelated.
when you print through localtalk (ie wired) the fonts are perfect. more
