As I see it, the pen interace is the logical extension of the mouse
interface when you're not sitting at a desk - or more accurately, when
your computer you're carrying with you IS your desk. But for a full
Knowledge Navigator as was originally imagined, I WOULD want a keyboard,
at least as an option. I can type faster than I can write, and the
reason I learned how to type is becasue I get writer's cramp very
easily.. My earlier idea of an iBook/TiBook that had a flip-back screen
that was touch-sensitive, and maybe some kind of thin "skin" on the top
that could be turned over to cover the keyboard when you're not using it
in flipped back position (easier than an irregular keyboard for
holding).. THAT's my dream machine. With NewtOS of course (well
actually, no, but with NewtOS done write - in a modular way, get rid of
memory errors, leaks (?), make NS reentrant so apps can be multitasked,
improve the C++ environment a LOT (support for persistant data,
documented ways to thread, better interaction between C and NS.
