John, funny enough, I have Information about Apple Internet Router.
Just today, before reading your message I saw the whole package in
our Apple consulting Center. It is a long time ago we used that to
connect our old localtalk laserwriter to the ethernet network. I did
not do it then, but I will catch the package inclusive manual this
monday. I will gibe it atry myself but please tell me what infos etc.
you need.

Kind regards,

hubertus

The problem is that Hubertus is using a software NAT router by Apple
(Software Base Station), so it has limited configuration. It doesn't
pass Appletalk through the NAT (not the type of ADSP AppleTalk that the
Newton uses anyway). This is why Hubertus can't see any other Macs
running NCU or any Postscript printer from his Newton.

I am trying to find a way around this because I have the same setup at
home. I am looking into some software that I have seen reference to on
the net called "Apple Internet Router". This is supposed to be able to
route AppleTalk to and from any ports (LocalTalk, Ethernet, TokenRing
etc.) to any other ports.

I'll let you know what I find out. In the meantime, if anyone has any
info on this software please email me off list.
