Yes, it is the default choice in much of Australia and our biggest
selling brand (whereas ironically Fosters, to which is suppose to be
the biggest selling brand worldwide, sells poorly. Must be our refined
palettes...). It does however carry moniker "Victorian Bloater" for
some very good reasons...

Generally speaking, Australia's better beers are the ones that come
from my homesite of Tasmania; Cascade Premium Lager is a very fine
drop. Hahn Premium Lager an Crown Lager are also very good. Carlton
Cold is a very drinkable mid-price beer.

For those who believe quantity is more important than quality, try a 2L
"stubbie" of NT Draught. Unsurprisingly, people in the Northern
Territory drink about 3 times more beer per capita than the rest of
Australia. Given the weather there is always 32 degrees Celsius though,
it's hard not to see why.

Ben.
