That's a good point. My development suggestions are to sustain an aging
platform, not to wow Apple. However, you have to admit that an
application of this caliber would get a lot more attention than a pile
of old registration cards (no offense...it's was an entertaining thread
and I would have participated).
My goal here is to create enough interest to spark a massive project. A
project that would require the majority of the top developers, project
managers, and designers lurking on this list to join together...with a
single goal. A project that wouldn't make us rich or well rested or
loved by our wife/husband/child/pet (but would be pretty darn
impressive on a resume). A project that would make an amazing piece of
history sustainable for years to come.

Subject: Re: [NTLK] Next steps for NewtSync? My thoughts...
OK i must say that i was never under the impression that we were trying
to get apples attention. what purpose would this serve? are they
going to take all of our (the ntlk community) improvements put them in
in a new system and give us new newtons? i doubt it. they, as we have
already discussed in numerous threads, have gotten out of the pda
field, more than likely arent coming back, and if they do they are not
going to say "thanx for sticking around here's a lil sumthin for your
support. " for the most parts any advancements that come out of the
minds of the geniuses that have improved out newtows thru h/w or s/w
will only get the attention of those of us that already own one or want
to buy one. i doubt that any company, unless we create one, will
reinvent our newton, basically for the same reasons that it was
discontinued originally. we as a community have sustained and advanced
our newtons. we as a community will take it to its next level and
beyond.
now on a more personal note i would love if more of the new
advancements were pc/windows based as well. hint hint 8-)

John,
If you want to get the attention of Apple, preserve the value of the
Newt, increase adoptability, or prove that our platform can compete in
this market, then this is your chance to be heard.
What do you think?
