I've not tried PrintLink but:

Try SoftPrintPack (on UNNA in the /windows directory) $10 shareware might
do just what you want.

IIRC, per the SoftPrintPack web site (but guessing for printlink a bit) you
may have to install an older Windows driver- as in the Microsoft default
driver, not the latest from HP or whatever 3rd party makes your printer-
for it to work. That might also be the issue with PrintLink.
