Aye, there's the rub. How to get to the Extras drawer without the
icons to get to the Extras drawer!

Searching through the archives, the solution seems to be a

     keyboard up arrow

command to get to the Dock. Then I can install DataRescue/ backup
what's there, a brainwipe to lobotomize my green matter, then restore.
Maybe there's a way to display the Extras Drawer to freeze some icons.
